Yamamoto x LeBasse Projects

Ok, excuse the horrible photo's but we are excited that we have the first White/Chrome koibito sample in hand. When we get all 150 in from the factory poor Yoskay is going to actually be signing and numbering all of them. Thats right, gallery edition comes signed and numbered.

Don't email me about #1, thats staying at home with the gallery...

Yoskay's next solo is also officially on the books May 9th. Put it on your calendar and book a flight, because you can also expect some killer giveaways at the reception.

No Art, Just Ball

Last night we went to the World Baseball Classic championship game where Japan and Korea battled into extra innings for the title.

This game was amazing from start to finish as a capacity crowd never stopped chanting and cheering. My main man Ichiro was off the chains going 4-6 and carrying Japan to its second World Championship.

Not art, but an unbelievable experience.

Preview night...at the new LeBasse Projects

I have neglected my posting for a week or two, but primarily because I have been gearing up to launch the new LeBasse Projects. Last night we threw a preview party for some artists and friends before this upcoming big opening.

I somehow (with the help of Christine, Kim and Nicole) managed to get everything ready for the preview and we had a great time just relaxing and catching up with friends. The work in the show looked fantastic in the new gallery…I think everyone needs to paint big from here on in…since we have some big walls to fill.

For those who joined us last night, thank you for showing your support, and thanks to Crustacean for catering! I cannot get enough of the garlic noodles…

If you did not make it, please join us Saturday the 21st for the Opening Reception from 7-10pm. We won’t have catering, but we will have some surprises to give out. Plus we will be joined by our friends at Gen Art who are helping throw the opening party!

I don’t have much else to say, so I will let pics tell the story after the jump.

Nate Frizzell started the trend, but now Tessar Lo, another of our artists has his own ipod and laptop skins. This is a piece from his last show in Seattle and will certainly look great on your macbook pro.

Order one up at Infectious.

Kanye West on Edwin Ushiro...

I recently posted about Edwin's new print. Well apparently Kanye West had something to say about it: Kanye Blog

New Print from Edwin Ushiro

LeBasse Projects artist Edwin Ushiro just released a new print last week with Paper Tiger. It is a stunning rendition of yet another painting from the multi talented artist.

According to Edwin, the print, titled 'Birth of Unreckoning' is another in his series of works evoking memories of his childhood in Hawaii.

Edwin says, "In Hawaiian mythology, Madame Pele is the Hawaiian Goddess of fire, lightning, dance, volcanoes, and violence. Throughout my childhood in Hawaii, I have heard numerous reports from residents who have had an encounter with Pele. Many sightings forewarn an eruption of Kilauea (one of the world's most active volcano)."

The prints has a very small edition size (only 25) so go get one soon...or save your money for his upcoming solo show this summer.
