Fish Head, Fish Head...

So Yoskay Yamamoto is nearing completion of his new toy with Munky King...and we got a sneak peek of the prototype! Yoskay actually sculpted this as well - the kid is multi-talented.

We will also be creating a "project:" edition, but the colors are under wraps for the moment. Hopefully we will have them in hand for his show in May. Keep an eye out for some new prints and T-shirts from Yosk too...

yoskay and frizzell go to Washington...

...DC that is!

Both Yoskay and Nate are in a show this weekend at ArtWhino in DC. We just sent the paintings out Monday, but both guys sent some rad new paintings. Yes, rad.

They got invited by Shane at ArtWhino, who seems to be putting together some pretty big shows in DC. No one else out there, so its good somebody is bringing this emerging art scene to a big city.

Here are some samples of the guys work:

Nate Frizzell

Yoskay Yamamoto

They actually did a collaboration too:

jophen stein is at war

This Saturday we hosted a solo show from Jophen Stein, the only artist I know who could probably teach a history course at any major university...

His show is fantastic, as Jophen has woven a history lesson of the French and American revolutions into his body of work. So not only do you get a little culture by going to an art show - you also get a nearly formal education!

my camera went caput half way through, so you will have to wait a minute for additional show pics. All the artwork can be seen online though: project:gallery

atmosphere x project:

So tonight we hosted a mini show with a couple of the guys...and we threw in a live painting demo to boot.

Ken Garduno, Tom Haubrick, Derek Albeck, Yoskay Yamamoto, Nate Frizzell and Tessar Lo busted out the brushes and went to town on a few canvases in the windows at Atmosphere boutique in Los Feliz.

An anxious crowd gathered to see what would become of our heroes...

For some of the boys this was their first live collaboration...and liquid courage was needed. After a few too many drinks the painting slowed to a crawl - but it was all good. Two windows painted and many new fans...

Each of the artists has a super limited edition (10) print available - exclusively in-store...so make sure to stop by and check out the paintings and prints.

You can see the prints and the rest of the mayhem online or stop into Atmosphere:

first re-post: stan lee and me...sort of.

so the boys and i headed to check out the stan lee tribute at 1988. Yoskay, Tessar and Nate all had pieces in the show and it was a good chance to see how some of the young turks work showed in a giant group show.

but before we went, we had to stop and get the 50 hot wing special across the street. after 48...here's bonano looking sick:

1988 was packed, we didn't even really see stan the man as he was being mobbed by fanboys. nate was trying to get a peek and wondering why stan didn't recognize him.

the rest of the show was just too crowded, and then it got too hot, so i had to go home. i'm a crotchety old man, what do you want me to do? plus the hot wings were kicking in.

if you can make sure to check out the show though. tons of great paintings, especially this one:

you should go buy this if it isn't already sold...
